The cards represent your tasks from multiple different plans and apps

All Tasks at a Glance

One of the standout features of the new Board View is the ability to see all my tasks in one place. No more switching between different views or apps to get a comprehensive overview of everything on my plate from Planner basic and planner plans, Loop task lists, Meeting notes, personal tasks and Outlook.  With this new layout, I can effortlessly track every task, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.

I’ve been able to do this in a Grid View for a while, but I find a list doesn’t motivate me 💪

Assigned to Me

The tasks assigned to me are seamlessly integrated into the Board View. These tasks come from various plans and projects I'm involved in, making it incredibly easy to see what requires my immediate attention. The visual representation of each task as a card helps me prioritise and organise my workload efficiently.

Flagged Emails

Another fantastic feature is the inclusion of flagged emails in the Board View. These emails are automatically pulled in from my Outlook inbox, allowing me to manage important communications alongside my regular tasks. It's a brilliant way to ensure that vital emails don't get lost in the depths of my inbox and remain front and centre.

Grouping Options Galore

The new Board View offers several grouping options, making it a versatile tool for any workflow. I can group tasks by plan, progress, due date, and priority, tailoring the view to suit my specific needs at any given moment. This flexibility means I can always have a clear and organised view of my tasks, regardless of the project I'm working on.

Group by Progress

The ability to group tasks by progress is another feature I adore. It allows me to quickly assess which tasks are in progress, completed, or yet to be started. This visual representation of progress keeps me motivated and focused on moving tasks through the workflow.

Group by Due Date

Grouping by due date is perfect for deadline-driven projects. It helps me prioritise tasks based on their urgency and ensure that I'm always working on what's most time-sensitive. This feature is a lifesaver when juggling multiple deadlines.

Group by Priority

Lastly, grouping tasks by priority ensures that I stay focused on what matters most. It's a simple yet powerful way to ensure that high-priority tasks receive the attention they deserve, helping me stay productive and efficient.

Here’s a showstopper! You can drag and drop task cards between groups and the task automatically updates. From in progress to complete, due date changes or priority status updates it’s so simple!

Group by Plan

Grouping tasks by plan helps me see the bigger picture and understand how each task fits into the overall project. It's an excellent way to stay aligned with my team's goals and ensure that every task contributes to our collective success.

You can’t drag and drop task cards between plans. Perhaps in the future? Imagine how powerful it could be to drop a flagged email or personal task into a group plan.

New Simplicity in Task Management

The new Board View in My Tasks in the Planner App using visual card representation is a dream come true. It brings clarity, organisation, and a sense of accomplishment to my daily workflow. I can't recommend it enough to anyone looking to boost their productivity and enjoy a more streamlined task management experience.

So, dive into the new Board View, embrace the power of visual card task management, and watch your productivity soar. Happy planning!
